Specialist and Professor - Public Health Entomology

Entomologist and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) specialist since 1995. Board member of the IPM Institute of North America. Co-directs the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) IPM for Sensitive Sites in the Built Environment - Western Region Work Group, and member of NIFA Western Region Bed Bug Working Group. Serves on the National School IPM 2020 Steering Committee, and the Advisory Board of the IPM Institute Green Shield Certification program.

Extension efforts include IPM implementation programs in public schools, and public disabled and elderly housing. Operational research studies focus on management of public health pests, including the yellow fever mosquito, and common bed bug.

Liaise and support state and government agencies regarding, public health pest issues, pollution prevention, and vector management. Provide technical support for industry members including pest management professionals, and environmental health professionals.
